Managing multi-year product development processes is more complex then managing a typical 6 month project.  Our best practice model incorporates Organizational Commitment, Team Work, and Communication in addition to the core Project Management competencies of Intiation, Planning, Execution and Control, Closeout and Risk. A unique aspect of our process is differentiating requirements (identified by the users) from solutions (identified by the development staff). 

The Dual Vee System Development model developed by Hal Mooz and Kevin Forsberg in 2004 and incoporated into the INCOSE Systems Engineering handbook is the foundation of this focus area.  We use the Vee model to address the product development lifecycle technical processes.  We demonstrate the linkage between requirements, solutions, verification and risk and how these integrate with project management processes.  We can also address Requirements Management; Concept Architecture and Design; and Integration, Verification and Validation.
