Independet Investigations and EEO Training
Been notified of an EEO complaint and don't know how to proceed without bias? The first step is always to thoroughly investigate the claim as soon as possible and if you are concered about the investigation being biased, bring in an independent resource.
Are you familiar with the evolving regualtions, for example the recently published position of the EEOC on LGBT issues. If you are not aware you are exposed. Training your staff on the issues is the first step in putting a prevention plan in place.
Susan Ryan is retired from a 40 year career with the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, where she served as an Investigator, a Supervisory Investigator, and as a Program Analyst. In these roles, she personally investigated complaints of employment discrimination, managed and provided on-the-job training to Investigators, and ensured that EEOC field offices throughout the country were complying with the Agency’s laws and procedures. Susan was also very involved with providing outreach services to various companies and organizations, and conducted many training sessions, not only for private companies and organizations, but also for Investigators and managers within the Agency. She also served as a trainer for EEOC’s Office of Federal Operations for the New Investigator Training course, and the EEO Updates Course for Federal Investigators.
Currently, Susan investigates EEO complaints filed against Federal Agencies, and provides training on EEO laws and procedures.
